Manufacturing Operator III-2nd Shift

• Set up equipment at the beginning and during the shift.
• Document operations by completing all required forms.
• Change parameters and supplies of machine as required.
• Know terminology and components of designated areas of equipment.
• Perform minor preventive maintenance as required.
• Bring supplies to the area and ensure correct supplies are used.
• Effectively troubleshoot equipment and make corrections if needed.
• When machine issues arise, call the mechanic and explain the problem.
• Make sure the product is sealed and has the correct code (if applicable).
• Change packaging materials to avoid downtime and can identify sub‑standard supplies.
• Operate machine in a safe manner.
• Communicate to Supervisor or Team Leader any machine or process problems in a timely manner.
• Perform general housekeeping tasks related to the area for the purpose of providing a clean and safe work environment.
• Attend meetings representing the functional area.
• Work well in a team‑oriented atmosphere.
• Comply with the policies outlined in the Amy’s handbook.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must have at least 6 months of Amy’s experience or demonstrated previous machine operator experience.

• Must be well versed in control panel sequences and protocols.
• Language skills.
• Able to read instructions and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Able to complete forms.
• Able to communicate with Team Leader and Supervisor.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. Can calculate percentages.

• Reasoning ability.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for extended periods, perform manual dexterity activities and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Employee may be required to move material in and out of freezers. May work near equipment that generates heat.
