Duties
- Prepare endoscopic equipment and supplies, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and functioning correctly before procedures.
- Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures by handling equipment, monitoring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment through strict aseptic techniques.
- Operate medical imaging devices and capture high-quality images or videos necessary for diagnostic evaluation.
- Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout procedures, providing immediate support as needed.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, including patient information, equipment used, and procedural notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients on procedure processes, post-procedure care, and answer questions to ease anxiety and promote understanding.
- Adhere to all safety protocols related to physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and infection control to prevent complications or cross-contamination.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy relevant to gastrointestinal and respiratory systems.
- Proficiency in medical terminology to accurately document procedures and communicate with healthcare teams.
- Expertise in aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
- Familiarity with medical imaging technology used in endoscopy for capturing diagnostic visuals.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluation by recognizing abnormal findings during procedures.
