Position Summary Teacher – Division IV Physical Education, full‑time probationary contract (1.00
FTE) for the 2026/2027 school year. The assignment is at Brooks Composite High School (BCHS). Location Brooks Composite High School, Brooks, Alberta, Canada.
Key Responsibilities Provide a stimulating learning environment and deliver course material that enables each student to experience growth and develop to their full potential.
Foster an educational environment grounded in the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Identify individual and collective student learning needs appropriate to their age and grade level.
Plan and deliver approved curriculum in accordance with student learning needs, including those with special needs.
Provide direct support and/or intervention as required to maximize student achievement and well‑being.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary student services team to discuss individual student needs and progress.
Ensure recommended personalized student resources and supports are implemented effectively to maximize student achievement and well‑being.
Guide student‑support staff to help them understand and respond to individual student strengths and needs.
Use a variety of assessment tools to evaluate and communicate student progress.
Meet with parents or guardians to discuss students’ learning progress.
Supervise extracurricular and after‑school activities as required.
Attend meetings, seminars, and in‑service training sessions.
Serve as a positive role model for students.

Qualifications Bachelor of Education.
Pre‑service teacher preparation program from an approved institution.
Valid Alberta Teaching Certification.
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and lesson design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of student learning.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Employment Requirements Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) – original document issued within the last six months.

Moving Expense Reimbursement Relocation from Red Deer and north of Red Deer – up to 1,500.
Relocation south of Red Deer, excluding a 110km radius around Brooks – up to 1,000.
Relocation from other provinces or countries – up to 2,000.
