The Herald School within Medicine Hat Public School Division is hiring a Specialized Educational Assistant for the  school year. In this full-time role, you will provide essential support to students with diverse abilities and collaborate with teachers and specialists to enhance learning outcomes. Your expertise in positive behavior support and self-regulation strategies will greatly contribute to a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with diverse physical and emotional needs

• Use positive behavior strategies to promote healthy learning

• Guide students in developing self-regulation skills

• Partner with therapists to implement tailored support plans

• Maintain classroom routines and clear expectations

Requirements:

• Educational Assistant Certificate or notable experience

• Background in working with children in educational settings

• Proficient with neurodiverse learners and their support needs

• Capacity to work effectively within a specialized classroom

• First aid training is an asset
