Casual / Substitute Educational Assistants
Medicine Hat Public School Division is seeking Casual / Substitute Educational Assistants for the School Year.
Medicine Hat Public School Division serves our current enrolment of over 7,000 students. Our Division offers a full spectrum of programs and services centered on students' needs with sensitivity to community and parents' needs. Our wide range of programs serves children from 2½ years of age to Grade 12. The Division is comprised of three high schools, four middle schools (including one with a Christian Education focus and a virtual online school), 14 elementary schools (including a virtual online learning school, a STEM‑centered learning school, an arts‑centered learning school and a variety of outreach alternative programs).
Candidates with Early Childhood Educator Certification
We are recruiting for candidates with Early Childhood Educator Certification to support the children in our licensed Play & Learn program. Please include a copy of your Level 1, 2, or 3 certificate if you have it.
Responsibilities
Work on a casual on‑call basis throughout the Division during the school year.
Assist with the implementation and follow‑through of Medical and Behaviour Support Plans.
Support students with specialized medical, cognitive, or behavioural needs, including complex communication, lifts and transfers, toileting, life skills, positive behaviour supports, and self‑regulation strategies.
Assist with ongoing recruitment for substitute educational assistants as needed.
Qualifications
Applicants with previous experience and/or education from a recognized post‑secondary institution are encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants must provide a police record check with vulnerable sector check, an intervention record check, and complete a physical demands assessment.
