We're Hiring:
Early Intervention Educator – Community Early Learning Program Part time temporary – 15 to 30 hours per week
School Year
Medicine Hat Public School Division (MHPSD) is seeking a caring, resourceful and collaborative, part time Early Intervention Educator to join our Community Early Learning Program(CELP) team in a part time position. This site based position provides early intervention supports in childcare settings under the direction of the Community Early Learning Teacher in partnership with our local childcare community.
What You'll Be Doing:
Therapy Integration & Strategy Execution :
Partner directly with therapy teams (SLP, OT, PT, Behavioral) to learn target strategies and embed them into daily, play-based childcare activities.
ISP Implementation & Daily Programming :
Design and adapt daily routines, learning centers, visual schedules, and environmental accommodations to support Individualized Support Plan (ISP) goals across communication, motor, and self-regulation skills.
Inclusive Classroom Support :
Model developmental and trauma-informed guidance techniques for room staff while facilitating peer interactions and inclusive group play.
Progress Tracking & Multidisciplinary Collaboration :
Maintain detailed observational records of developmental milestones, regularly review progress with the Community Early Learning Teacher, and contribute to multidisciplinary ISP updates.
What We're Looking For:
You're someone who brings strong intervention skills and enjoys working in childcare environments. You'll be successful in this role if you are:
Education:
Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE Level 2 or 3 preferred) or related field.
Experience:
2+ years of experience working in early childhood settings with young children receiving early intervention services or special education support preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of early childhood development, play-based learning, inclusive childcare practices, and pediatric therapy concepts.
Autonomy &
Skills:
High level of initiative, organizational skills, and ability to manage daily tasks independently without direct daily supervision.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with therapists, teachers, and childcare educators in person and through electronic means.
Additional Requirements:
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Clear criminal record check with vulnerability sector and child intervention record check
First Aid – if not current commitment to obtain current certificate

Working conditions Work calendar:
As soon as possible in September to June 22, program is closed on stat holidays, during Christmas Break, February Break and Easter Break.

Various childcare settings in our community – specific sites to be determined.
Reporting to:
Community Early Learning Teacher
Salary grid: based on years of experience and childcare certification
All duties are expected to be carried out in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards and regulations.
