Overview
Siemens Energy is seeking highly talented and motivated candidates for a Wind Technician position in Medicine Hat. Safety and Quality form a central part of our culture, and the ideal candidate will have a strong focus on both. The candidate will work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure top performance on our wind farms.
Responsibilities- Responsible for the service, maintenance and troubleshooting of Siemens Gamesa SG4X wind turbines near Medicine Hat.
- Provide excellent service to customers by completing services and paperwork on time.
- Work inside the wind turbine enclosure at an elevated height of approximately 300 feet.
- Participate in extensive training and testing covering safety and technical job requirements.
- Perform physical tasks including ladder climbing, stair climbing, standing for long periods, lifting, bending, twisting, pushing and pulling; work in varying weather conditions and in confined spaces.
- Capable of efficiently taking on additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm.
- Demonstrated knowledge in electrical systems including PLC programming and converters.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment.
- Strong ability to organize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of quality orientation, and to analyze and resolve problems independently with a results orientation.
- Good computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Must be eligible to hold a valid Passport and Driver’s License and be legally able to work in Canada.
