Service Technician
- Bow Island, Alberta (m/f/d)

POSITION SUMMARY

The role of a Service Technician I directly supports the company's mission by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of wind turbine generators, which are integral to producing 100% renewable energy. The Service Technician I is responsible for performing turbine maintenance and operational tasks in accordance with high safety standards.

The role collaborates closely with the operational and back‑office teams to ensure a high level of availability in the wind farm, supporting strong service performance for our customers and contributing to the company’s future growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on wind turbines and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to support reliable turbine performance.
  • Follow safety procedures, including LOTO, hazard assessments, and proper use of PPE.
  • Complete maintenance reports, service documentation, and work orders accurately.
  • Support 24/7 wind farm operations, including on-call, overtime, and rotating shift coverage.
  • Assist with equipment inspections, root cause analysis, and system upgrades.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and required certifications.
  • Work closely with site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of technical training, experience, and safety certifications.
  • Wind, electrical, mechanical, or technical education/certification is an asset.
  • 0 to 1 year of wind industry experience preferred.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working at heights over 300 feet (100 meters) and lifting up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and confined spaces.
  • Ability to travel for training and support at other sites as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to work in Canada without sponsorship and travel to the U.S. for onboarding and training.

  • Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job‑related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English‑speaking supervisors and team members.
