Power Engineering Lab Assistant College

Enhance your career as a Lab Assistant in Power Engineering with Medicine Hat College. You will operate power plant equipment while performing vital maintenance and ensuring a safe lab environment.

This full-time role involves preparing lab apparatus and managing high-pressure boilers and auxiliary systems. Successful candidates will possess an Alberta Fourth Class Power Engineer’s certificate and preferably have experience in operating industrial processes. Your ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment will support the academic needs of students in the School of Trades and Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain high-pressure boiler systems

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment

• Prepare laboratory equipment for experiments

• Maintain inventory of chemicals and safety protocols

• Ensure adherence to regulations governing plant operations

Requirements:

• Alberta Fourth Class Power Engineer’s certificate required

• One year of experience preferred in similar roles

• Familiarity with hand and power tools

• Knowledge of electrical systems and distribution

• Ability to operate a DCS effectively
