Property Assessment Analyst

Analyze property data and inspect buildings as an Assessor I with the City of Medicine Hat, working full-time on site. Apply analytical thinking and clear public communication to support fair municipal assessments.

This permanent Assessor I position combines field inspections with office-based analysis. You will measure structures, review construction details, and capture data for valuation models. The work supports equitable taxation, community services, public trust, and municipal decision-making.

• Inspect residential and non-residential properties
• Measure structures and review construction details
• Analyze sales, replacement costs, and income approaches
• Respond to assessment inquiries and explain valuation decisions
• Support complaint, appeal, and taxation processes

• Two-year diploma in property assessment or related field
• Strong analytical thinking with numbers and data
• Clear communication skills and public confidence
• Eligibility for Alberta Assessors' Association membership
• Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License
