UCT is looking for a talented Digitalization Engineer to join us in Singapore!

We are seeking an innovative and hands-on Digitalization Engineer to join our global automation engineering team within the semiconductor equipment manufacturing organization. This position will drive the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML/DL solutions that enhance quality, manufacturing efficiency and business excellence. The ideal candidate will be comfortable bridging data science, software engineering, Automation and manufacturing process expertise across global sites.

• Design and develop auser-driven AI UI platform for self-annotation, model training, validation, and deployment across global manufacturing sites.
• Develop and implement AI/ML/DL algorithms for Automation systems.
• Lead AI applications for MES (Manufacturing Execution System) data, including model development for process optimization and predictive analysis.
• Deliver and maintain OCR (Optical Character Recognition) application for serial number extraction (development completed, testing and deployment pending).
• Apply standard process CRISP‑DM (business understanding, data understanding, data preparation, modeling, evaluation, deployment), Machine Learning frameworks such as Tensor Flow, PyTorch etc. & Agile Methodologies for Business Analytics projects
• Continue development of AI models for Work Order Cycle Time prediction, collaborating with SAP and data engineering teams for feature enrichment.
• Support and enhance the AI-powered chatbot “UltrAI”, leveraging LLM frameworks (e.g., Ollama) to provide manufacturing intelligence and user support.
• Contributes to the company by creating patents and other intellectual property (IP Protection architecture)

• Build and integrate Operations excellence dashboard modules by creating interfaces for site users to input planned production times and ideal cycle times and contribute to the global automation dashboard architecture.
• Develop AI-driven quoting tools to improve response speed, reduce errors and rejections, and enhance overall customer experience - enabling the business to accelerate bid generation and increase win rates.
• Leads discovery processes with business stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome

• Work closely with external consultants and internal teams spanning IT (Data & Analytics, IT Applications), Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Business Excellence, Product Line Management, and Global PMO.
• Coordinate multiple parallel projects ensuring data alignment, AI model integration, and process standardization across global sites.
• Translate complex technical work streams into clear deliverables and communicate outcomes effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelors/Master’s degree in computer science, AI, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 4–8 years of experience in AI/ML development, preferably within semiconductor or advanced manufacturing industries.
• Strong hands-on experience in deep learning, computer vision, predictive modeling, and ML platform deployment.
• Proficiency in Python, Tensor Flow/PyTorch, OpenCV, and building interactive UI tools (Streamlit, FastAPI, or similar).
• Experience developing AI models for AOI systems, other automation systems and working with MES/SAP-based manufacturing data.
• Familiarity with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow,…
