PTZ Insurance Services Ltd is seeking a Designated Representative who will report to the Senior Director, Call Center Operations. The Designated Representative is responsible for overseeing our Canadian regulatory compliance and licensing requirements, ensuring our company operates with integrity, meets all provincial regulatory obligations, and maintains the highest standards in the pet insurance industry.

This position is best suited for an experienced insurance professional credentialed to act as a Designated Representative across multiple provinces and territories.

Job Location: Remote – Canada

Main Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary regulatory contact in Canada, ensuring compliance with applicable insurance laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain all required provincial and agency licenses; prepare and file applications, renewals, and amendments as necessary.
  • Supervise licensing and ensure adherence to all licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Account Management teams to support new and ongoing sales initiatives while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively address compliance concerns.
  • Develop and implement compliance programs, including training, communication, and monitoring activities.
  • Monitor and report any ethical or compliance risks, or operational issues, and help develop and enforce relevant policies and procedures.
  • Participate in monthly compliance discussions with internal department leads to advise on regulatory updates, upcoming filings, and audits to proactively address risks.
  • Assist with internal and external compliance audits.
  • Work with other departments, such as legal and business operations, to ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Level 3 General Insurance Agent license (Managing General Agent qualification).
  • CIP or CRM.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • P&C (Property and Casualty) Insurance Licensed.
  • Must be eligible to act as a DR (Level
    3) under applicable provincial/territorial regulations.
  • A deep understanding of Canadian insurance regulations and compliance best practices.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • A proactive approach to risk management, regulatory affairs, and operational oversight.
  • Passion for the pet industry and a commitment to ensuring the company operates with integrity and excellence.

This is a full‑time position. Days and hours will be determined by business needs and agreed between employee and director.
