DIVISION CARETAKER – (PART TIME: 6-HOUR EVENING SHIFT)

Ross Glen School & George Davison School, Medicine Hat, Alberta
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Hours per Week: 30

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Caretaker to join our team and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in our Ross Glen and George Davison schools. This position is 6 hours per day, with 3 hours at each location. As a caretaker, you will play a vital role in supporting the schools' educational missions by ensuring our facilities are clean, secure, and well-maintained.
A travel allowance between the two schools will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas
Maintain cleaning equipment and restock supplies
Ensure building security and assist with facility safety
Report maintenance issues and safety concerns
Support event setup and takedown, and assist with furniture moves
Collaborate with staff and project a positive image of the school
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 6 months of caretaking experience preferred
Valid WHMIS certification (or ability to obtain)
Working knowledge of cleaning procedures, tools, and safety regulations
Ability to operate custodial equipment (e.g., auto scrubbers, vacuums, floor burnishers)
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook)
Strong organizational, communication, and people skills
A demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively
Physically capable of lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
The successful applicant will be required to provide a police information check with vulnerable sector as well as complete job specific pre-employment testing as a condition of the job offer.
