Food Clerk-Eagle Butte; Highway Gas Bar

Position Summary

South Country Co-op is seeking a friendly and customer-focused Hot Food Clerk to join our team at Eagle Butte Gas Bar location, located off of Highway #1 n Dunmore, Cypress County, AB. If you’re passionate about providing exceptional customer experiences, we’d love to hear from you!

Reporting to the Gas Bar Manager, this position is responsible for preparing a variety of hot and cold food items; including sandwiches, subs, desserts, chicken, wedges, and pizza while ensuring adherence to all Food Safe handling and sanitation standards. The Hot Food Clerk also supports customer transactions, merchandising, and overall cleanliness of the convenience store.

• Prepare and serve hot foods (e.g., pizza, chicken, wedges)
• Assemble fresh, in-store made sandwiches, subs, and desserts
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Provide outstanding customer service and respond to customer needs promptly
• Assist with product merchandising, stock rotation, and display setup
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the hot food area and convenience store
• Follow safe work procedures and report any safety concerns
• Deliver excellent customer service by assisting customers, promoting merchandise, and ensure customer needs, preferences, and expectations are met
• Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op
• Other duties as assigned

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with calculators and point-of-sale system
• Must have or be able to obtain Foodwise certification
• Food preparation experience is considered an asset
• Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently lift 20–30 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to adapt to new technologies and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and a customer-first attitude
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced and diverse environment
• Positive, proactive mindset with a strong work ethic

This position requires full availability, including days, evenings, and weekends. Available to work morning shifts between the hours of 5am - 2pm.
