Security Guard – Special Event
Location:
Medicine Hat area
- Start:
August 15, 2026 - End:
October 5, 2026 - Shift pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off
- Shift length: 12-hour shifts
- Day shift: 06:00 – 18:00
- Night shift: 18:00 – 06:00
- Pay: $18.00 per hour
- Travel, accommodation and food allowance provided
- Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, its assets, and personnel.
- Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protective devices and fire control equipment.
- Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
- Controls access to client sites or facilities through the admittance process.
- Patrols assigned sites on foot or in vehicles; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unsecured doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
- Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client's property and assets.
- Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
- Uses computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic training.
- Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
- Valid Alberta Security Guard License.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle access.
- Must pass drug and alcohol test.
- Working knowledge of security operations and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.
- Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office.
- Ability to walk, stand, and conduct patrols.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- First Aid/CPR considered an asset.
