Overview

We are seeking a Service Person to maintain and repair fleet equipment. The role focuses on routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, ensuring safe operation of all fleet vehicles while managing dangerous goods transport and complying with OHS policies.

What You’ll Do Here
  • Comply with PPE policy.
  • Service and maintain fleet vehicles.
  • Perform annual and daily pre‑trip inspections.
  • Maintain company property and safe working environment.
  • Work overtime and on weekends as needed.
  • Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committees and Aecon Safety Toolbox Meetings.
  • Report accidents/incidents and conduct hazard assessments.
  • Coordinate activities with Supervisors and keep a daily activity diary.
  • Ensure drug and alcohol free workplace.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Team
  • Self‑starter, able to work with limited supervision.
  • Class 5 driver’s licence with clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations (WHMIS, Industrial Establishments, Designated Substances, etc.).
  • Ability to work in various climate conditions, away from home for extended periods, overtime, and weekends.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of equipment operations.
Necessary Competencies
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Ability to read and understand parts manuals and schematics.
  • No allergies to fuel, lubrication oils or fumes.
  • Respect and integrity in the workplace.
  • Certified in Road Builders Safety Training System (RSTS).
Physical Demands Analysis

On a site the candidate may be exposed to extreme noise, heat, and weather. Tasks include climbing ladders, working around and under vehicles, lifting 50+ pounds, performing repetitive motions, and travelling to remote locations. The role requires ability to work in all weather conditions and willingness to travel alone.
