About the RoleReady Mix Drivers are responsible for the primary day-to-day delivery of Ready Mix Concrete to job sites within the Medicine Hat area, serving homeowner and industry clients. In this role you will maintain customer relationships, provide friendly service, and ensure customers receive a high-quality product from Amrize. This is a customer-facing role that requires a service-oriented mindset and a highly professional approach.
WhatYou'll Accomplish
- Maintain equipment by performing daily pre- and post-trip inspections, keeping equipment clean inside and out.
- Build and maintain relationships of trust with customers in the assigned geography and own their satisfaction.
- Provide consistent and reliable customer service through deliveries, delivering a positive, hassle-free experience.
- Navigate around Medicine Hat and surrounding areas to maintain on-time deliveries.
- Maintain strong working relationships with logistics, operations teams, and fellow operators.
- Work a flexible schedule, including different shifts, weekends, and/or evenings.
- Understand traffic rules and regulations for commercial vehicles and be courteous on the road.
- Operate electronic devices such as tablets and GPS.
- Participate in the Amrize Ready Mix Training Program.
- Commit to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies, and promote a culture of safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Class 3Q (Air Brakes) or Class 1Q with a 5-year driver’s abstract (required).
- Preference given to those with construction and heavy equipment experience and knowledge of building materials.
- Ability to drive a manual-shift truck transmission.
- Strong knowledge of the city of Medicine Hat.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform tasks on electronic devices such as tablets.
- Relationship building with external customers and internal Amrize personnel.
- Problem solving and decision making.
- Ability to multitask in a rapid-paced environment.
- Strong sense of teamwork.
- Physical ability to lift over 50 lbs.
