What You'll Be Doing
  • Design and maintain standards, policies, procedures, and manuals for Supplier Quality regarding new supply sources, supplier quality relations, standardization of measurements, and acceptable criteria of materials; compile supplier performance KPI metrics and participate in supplier scorecard development.
  • Ensure suppliers meet Centro Motion requirements and develop suppliers to meet these requirements as needed.
  • Support the Sourcing team in the selection and quality of potential suppliers and support NPD (New Product Development) projects.
  • Interface with personnel from multiple Centro Motion plants to resolve chronic or major supplier issues and verify suppliers understand process/product requirements.
  • Implement and maintain quality improvement and auditing systems with suppliers focusing on process controls, quality control, quality management and quality systems.
  • Review engineering specifications and drawings to determine suppliers’ abilities to meet parameters, and review new and modified product designs from a material standpoint, advising modifications when necessary.
  • Review and approve Suppliers PPAPs; audit deliverables including Control Plans, Capability Studies, Part layouts, Gage R&R, PFEMA, and support or lead project management efforts regarding supplier changes.
  • Involve suppliers, internal resources, plant personnel to drive containment and closed‑loop closure to significant quality issues; ensure resolution using appropriate problem‑solving methodology such as Root Cause, 8D, and decision matrices.
  • Assist multiple Centro Motion plants on third‑party audit regarding supplier qualifications and performance.
  • Assist Purchasing and Customer Service to expedite product from suppliers in urgent situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need To Succeed
  • Education: BS degree in an engineering related field.
  • Experience and Training:
    • 5+ years of demonstrated quality systems knowledge and experience.
    • 50–75% travel.
    • Broad knowledge of manufacturing systems.
    • Ability to summarize test data, use problem‑solving tools (KT, 8D, etc.).
    • Familiarity with advanced quality planning including AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan, FMEAs, PPAPs, MSA, SPC standards.
    • Experience with Minitab or other statistical tools.
    • Strong self‑motivation, communication, customer satisfaction focus, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills.
  • Licenses/Certificates: Six Sigma Green or Black Belt or Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
  • Technology/Equipment: Previous experience as an auditor for ISO 9001/TS 16949 or VDA Quality Systems.
