• Check all patient medication orders to make sure they are suitable and enter orders into the system for inpatient unit.
• Oversee the dispensing, ordering, and restocking of medications for the hospice unit.
• Confirm and review deliveries from shipping vendors and pharmacy couriers before they are shipped.
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Participate in pharmacy operations and inventory management.
• Help maintain excellent customer service and client relations.
• Create and update training documents for new employees.
• Manage inventory according to financial guidelines and oversee ordering supplies, including for hospice units.
• Assist the Pharmacy Manager with regular reviews of the formulary and inventory for inpatient facilities.
• Our closed door pharmacy in Medina, OH is a dedicated hospice pharmacy. Open 7‑days per week (shortened weekend hours) with a weekend rotation.

• LTC dispensing pharmacy experience
• Hospice/palliative care and multidisciplinary team leadership experience preferred
• Skilled in pain medication dosing, generic substitutions, formulary management, and prior authorizations
• Detail‑oriented with strong project management abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercises good judgment
• Strong typing, computer, verbal, and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities
• Familiarity with Framework LTC dispensing software and pharmacy automation preferred

Our Dispensing Pharmacists provide vital, compassionate support that greatly improves the experience for hospice patients and their families. They have special knowledge in handling pain and symptoms, which helps improve patients' quality of life while undergoing hospice care. They work with healthcare teams to provide coordinated care that addresses both medical and emotional needs. They ensure that patients receive the right medications for comfort and dignity at the end of life.
