Responsibilities- Provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office.
- Serve as the front-line manager to lead and develop tax office associates, deliver an outstanding client experience, and achieve office growth objectives.
- Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Recruit and interview candidates for tax office associate positions; assist in the hiring process.
- Serve as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns; ensure clients are scheduled properly and conflicts are resolved.
- Lead daily activities to ensure all tax office work is completed on deadlines with attention to quality standards, priorities, and goals.
- Build an engaging team environment by training and coaching associates to meet Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
- Create associate work schedules and ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
- Prepare tax returns, as required.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and collaborate with the Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns.
- Prior experience in a customer service, shift lead, or similar role; experience supervising or managing people.
- 2+ years as a Tax Professional (preferred).
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
- Annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Customer-centric mindset; flexible to work schedule and assignments based on business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
