R&D Machinist/Tool & Die Maker – Plastipak

As an R&D Machinist/Tool and Die Maker, you will set up and operate machine tools to produce extrusion tooling, blow molds, and precision parts in the Medina Packaging Development Center. You may also fabricate and modify parts to repair machine tools, quality equipment, and production tooling, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

• CNC program editing and creation using Master Cam.
• Study specifications and visualize product to determine materials and machining processes.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances with mathematics and measuring instruments.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions on metal stock for machining.
• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines (Haas, Fadal, Hermle, DMU, Okuma, Howa, Mori Seiki).
• Monitor feed and speed during machining and adjust as needed.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units with precision instruments (micrometers, indicator blocks, Starrett CMM, Mitutoyo Quick Scope, Optical Comparator).

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with 3+ years experience;
  Journeyman preferred.
• Good communication skills; detail‑oriented, adaptable, cooperative, and team‑player.
• Working knowledge of extrusion or blow molding equipment a plus.
