Overview

BRPH is looking for an Architect for our Melbourne, Florida office. The ideal candidate will perform advanced assignments utilizing professional architectural knowledge and abilities. Assignments require independent judgement. More complex projects will be under the supervision of senior architectural staff.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assignments shall include more variables and be more complex. Assignments usually include complex architectural tasks and calculations with limited technical guidance on non‑standard issues. Independently performs most assignments with instruction as to the general results expected. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects. Should devise new approaches and solutions.
  • Performs design tasks based on standard architectural techniques and procedures and advances design through a series of interrelated processes.
  • Prepares plans, specifications, exhibits, and reports for projects with the oversight of senior architectural staff as required.
  • Has sound understanding of codes and standards and can research code issues, present interpretations, and properly apply them consistently.
  • Performs Life Safety analyses and prepares Life Safety Plans.
  • Coordinates and checks own work and instructs, leads, and mentors junior staff to ensure documentation quality.
  • Provides coordination of all applicable project discipline's drawings, digital models, and specifications. Provides regular communication and close coordination with teammates in multiple offices.
  • Maintains positive and professional relationships with clients, consultants, colleagues, and contractors through clear and proactive communication.
  • Assists in preparing design budgets and marketing proposals.
  • Has a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of construction techniques and constructability.
  • Performs construction administration duties, such as attending construction site meetings, shop drawing review, reviewing RFIs, and preparing ASIs per the contract documents.
  • Must be proficient in the use of:
  • Revit with working knowledge of Navisworks and/or BIM 360.
  • Microsoft Windows, Excel, Bluebeam, and Word.
  • Knowledge of industry standard computer software for architectural modeling, renderings, and building energy analysis.
  • Has strong architectural design skills and visual literacy.
  • Understands and applies sustainable/green strategies.
  • Promotes and represents the firm in a professional manner.
  • Active involvement in professional trade organizations is preferred.
  • Responsible for maintaining established job specific standards, practices and quality.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited four‑year college or university.
  • Six years of experience in the architecture profession.
  • Completed AXP requirements.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Registration as a licensed architect or on a path to licensure within the next year.
