: $16.75 hourly. South Area/Viera - Suntree. Part-time / 2 hours daily (mornings and afternoons) on school days.

Job Description
:
Performs entry‑level protective service work ensuring the safe and orderly crossing of school‑age children at his/her assigned location.

• No formal education, training, or experience is required. Experience as a crossing guard or other work with elementary school‑age children is preferred.

• Must be of good moral character as determined by a personal background investigation.
• Must be able to pass the Brevard County Performance Checklist for School Crossing Guards prior to assuming duties.
• Must have a working home telephone or personal cell phone.
• In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man‑made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.

• Works closely with others; in cold; in dampness or chilly conditions; in heat; in high humidity; in or with dusty conditions; in or with moving objects or vehicles; in or with noisy conditions; on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; with feet, legs or hands in water; with fumes, smoke, gases, or flames; with odors; with poor lighting; with poor ventilation; work alone;
