Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineer Industrial/ Principal Engineer Industrial to support our Industrial Engineering Team (IE). This candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on site in Melbourne, FL
. Due to the nature of this role, this position requires an on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely.
The Industrial Engineering Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here in Melbourne. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. Please note: A start date, for candidates selected, will be determined after obtaining both a DOD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access and is contingent upon Business/Customer funding.
Responsibilities- Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently.
- Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints.
- Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints.
- Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools.
- Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams.
- Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers.
- Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies.
- Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies.
- Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance.

based on the qualifications below.
- Bachelor's degree with 1 or more years of technical and/or engineering, or data analysis experience; OR a Master’s degree with 0 or more years of technical and/or engineering, or data analysis experience
- Manufacturing Execution System (MES), MRP/SAP/Oracle or related experience
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and Excel
- Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance and special program access in reasonable amount of time as required by the business prior to commencement of employment
