Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Lab Design Engineer (Level
2) OR Principal Lab Design Engineer (Level
3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Lab Test organization. This position is located in Melbourne, FL. As the Lab Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and outfitting cutting-edge test environments for advanced air vehicle systems. You will lead the electrical design and integration efforts that turn concepts into fully functional labs - from cable interface assemblies and data-acquisition hardware to sensor suites that measure structural stress.

* Provides lab design, integration and systems engineering support for system and software engineering labs.

* Designs and develops system architectures and define key capabilities and performance requirements.

* Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications.

* Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces.

* Defines system implementation approach and operational concepts.

* Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customers.

* Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.

* Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at a Lab Design Engineer (Level
2) or Principal Lab Design Engineer(Level
3) level based on the qualifications below. Lab Design Engineer (Level
2)
* Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience.

* Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

* Demonstrated experience with electrical systems design and/or integration in a laboratory or test environment. Principal Lab Design Engineer(Level
3)
* Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.
