Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Communications Engineer - Supplier On-Site to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Melbourne, FL. The selected engineer will perform as a member of an interdisciplinary team on a key effort to develop novel and innovative solutions to advanced technical problems.

The successful engineer will contribute to the overall development of communications subsystems, including developing functional architectures, analyzing performance, developing and managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating all allocated requirements, You will design, develop, build, and test communications subsystems in conjunction with key suppliers. The Communications engineer in this role will be responsible for one or more of the following:
* Primary function/duties of this role is to be an engineering/program technical representative who will be on-site at the supplier location >50% of the time

* Day to Day liaison between supplier organization and NGAS PM, Technical Lead, SMT Lead and Responsible Engineer

* Support technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support

* Lead and/or support technical discussions with the supplier and having daily interaction with management, external personnel, and various sub teams

* Support development and integration of radar subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives

* Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders

* Performing risk analysis and developing mitigation plans and tracking to closure

* Conduct engineering trade analyses to determine different courses of actions and advise management in support of providing supplier guidance through Subcontracts Administrator A successful candidate has good leadership skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams, consistently brings up concerns, issues and risks to program and technical leadership and holds the team to a high level of technical rigor.

Basic Qualifications:

Staff Communications Engineer - Supplier On-Site (T05):
* Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 14 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

* Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

* Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)

* Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing RF equipment for airborne platforms.

* Experience in supplier/subcontract management
