Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff EO/IR Portfolio Technical Lead at our Melbourne, FL location. The selected individual will lead an interdisciplinary team to develop advanced electro-optical infrared (EOIR) systems, including system performance modeling, demonstration, integration, and validation. Responsibilities include leading requirements analysis, system design, vendor oversight, and implementing innovative solutions using MBSE, Digital Engineering, and Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities- Lead technical teams through design, development, integration, and testing phases.
- Perform mission engineering activities ensuring operational capabilities align with system performance.
- Trade performance, cost, and mission requirements for new systems and architectures.
- Strategic planning and influencing project roadmaps.
- Stakeholder communication and requirements management.
- Develop system specifications, interface control documents, and verification plans.
- Manage suppliers and oversee vendor activities.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 14+ years of experience, or Master’s with 12+ years, or Ph.D. with 9+ years in related engineering fields.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Extensive background in EOIR technology and system design for airborne platforms.
- Experience in modeling EOIR systems and system engineering design methods.
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Quick learner with the ability to independently assimilate new concepts.
- Master’s in STEM with EOIR background preferred.
- 15+ years of engineering experience, including development of algorithms and real-time system modeling.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
Salary Range: $147,700 - $221,500. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, paid holidays, and PTO. The application window is approximately 20 days from posting, subject to extension based on needs.
