We are seeking a Senior Civil Land Development Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, FL. Our civil engineers handle grading, site plans, roads, utility design and planning, and stormwater. They work on local, state, and federal projects that include small, medium, and large planning; design‑bid‑build; and design‑build projects. Our engineers also travel to federal projects throughout the US, Europe, and the Middle East, collaborating with other civil engineering groups across the US and many other disciplines at Atkins

Réalis, including aviation, coastal, water resources, environmental and more.

• Designs and develops plans and drawings, which may include the development of preliminary layout and/or final drawings.
• Organizes and conducts engineering investigations and planning work with a well‑defined scope, preparing straightforward reports and more complex reports under periodic review.
• Provides engineering services during construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; prepares records and progress reports; observes construction procedures; and evaluates quality control testing, under guidance of a more experienced professional.
• Researches feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications.
• Contributes to the development of specifications and permit applications, and writes miscellaneous reports.
• Prepares preliminary man‑hour, cost and material quantity estimates.
• Participates in quality control checks, maintaining quality standards, checking computations, and/or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.
• Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering
• 10 years experience in Land Development or 9 years with a M.S.
• Technical writing, computer and communications skills required
• AutoCAD skills required
• Experience using ICPR, Water
  
  GEMS required
• PE license required
