This is a full-time on-site role for a Building Plans Examiner based in Melbourne, FL. The Building Plans Examiner is responsible for reviewing construction plans to ensure compliance with relevant building codes and standards, inspecting submitted plans for life safety and code adherence, and providing technical assistance in the enforcement of building regulations. The role includes maintaining records, collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors, and ensuring proper application of safety measures in construction projects.

• Experience in Building Inspections and Inspection processes
• Proficiency in Code Enforcement and understanding regulatory requirements
• Knowledge and skills in Plan Review and Life Safety considerations
• Ability to interpret building codes, regulations, and construction documents
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Previous experience in municipal government roles or a related field is a plus
• Relevant certifications or licenses, such as those related to building code enforcement or inspections, are preferred
