PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE - DIETARY AIDE (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, helping patients make menu selections, assemble, deliver, and pick up their meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team and responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate, delivered on time, at the correct temperature, and meet dietary requirements.

We are hiring immediately for full‑time and part‑time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE – DIETARY AIDE positions at Health First Viera Hospital, 8745 North Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL 32940. Online applications only.

• Location: Health First Viera Hospital
• Schedule: Full time and part time; days may vary between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm, including weekends.
• Requirement: Prior food service experience preferred.
• Pay Range: $16.00–$17.00 per hour.

• Help patients understand menu selections and work with nursing staff to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences, or when a patient inquires about additional selections.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and managing the patient tray line.
• Adhere to facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians, such as monitoring patients on liquid diets or specific calorie counts.
• Communicate problems or concerns to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures.
• Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, as well as department sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned.

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Physical ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver push food delivery carts.
