Overview

Multi Crossed Trained CT Tech - CT Imaging at Health First. This role involves providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by upholding Health First I CARE Values:
Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence; producing quality images; following all HF, hospital and departmental protocols; mentoring colleagues; and maintaining cross-modality flexibility (CT and other modalities) as needed.

• Quality/No Harm: Maintain a safe environment; verify patient identity (two forms) for every patient; perform “time out” prior to invasive procedures; adhere to ALARA radiation safety principles; know emergency equipment locations and usage; be familiar with Health First Emergency Kardex and codes; follow infection control policies; document and communicate pertinent information; report equipment malfunctions; complete required documentation accurately (e.g., patient history, pregnancy, IV contrast, consent, MAR, safety portal);
  
  review orders and obtain pertinent patient history; perform procedures per image quality standards and adhere to applicable regulations and Joint Commission/ACR standards; position patients properly and ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean and ready; follow image retrieval/file processes; participate in quality initiatives and departmental improvements; accept additional responsibilities as needed; attend staff meetings and sign off on minutes; properly identify, prepare and administer medications within technologist scope (as prescribed).
• Stewardship: Use supplies/equipment safely and cost-effectively; ensure accurate procedure data entry and charging; demonstrate time management; complete jobs promptly; assist in other areas or represent Health First when needed; use Kronos time clock properly; maintain flexibility for workflow changes based on patient volume.

  Experience:
  
  Communicate effectively with patients and staff; provide pre/post procedure education; address concerns; respect patient privacy and dignity; uphold the I-CARE PROMISE (Introduce, Clarify, Ask, Respond, Go the Extra mile).

• Certified and registered in radiography or radiation therapy by ARRT; must maintain certification/registration; or
• Certified and registered in nuclear medicine technology by ARRT or NMTCB; must maintain certification/registration;
• Current Florida State General Radiographer License;
• Cross-trained in CT or must complete an ARRT-structured CT education program with clinical experience;
• Advanced ARRT (CT) examination within two years of hire/transfer;
• Prior CT experience preferred;
• Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card;
• Computer skills pertinent to performance;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Ability to report to department within 30 minutes when on call.

• Physically able to walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift; move/position patients; push wheelchairs, stretchers, beds;
• Flexible with shifts; lift up to 40 pounds unassisted several times per day; wear lead aprons for extended periods;
• Ability to work under stress, respond to life-threatening situations, multi-task; demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving and professional conduct; maintain organizational skills and positive interactions with customers.
