Working Title:

Responsibilities:

  • Spend the majority of the time on supervisory responsibilities.
  • Supervise, motivate, train, evaluate employees, plan and direct work. Authorize, recommend, or make executive decisions regarding hiring, transfers, suspensions, lay‑offs, recalls, promotions, discharges, assignments, rewards, or disciplinary actions. Develop performance expectations, hold regular staff meetings to discuss performance, complete reviews, maintain schedules and time sheets.
  • Ensure the WIC clinic runs smoothly and policies/procedures are followed.
  • Evaluate clinical, anthropometric, and nutritional data of WIC Program applicants to determine eligibility and provide individualized nutrition education and counseling for low‑risk, high‑risk, and medically high‑risk clients with documentation in an electronic medical record.
  • Educate, support, and promote breastfeeding; refer clients to lactation staff.
  • Provide client referrals to community resources.
  • Perform anthropometrics (height and weight) and hematological testing as needed on Women, Infants and Children.
  • Promote WIC through participation in community outreach events.
  • Attend staff meetings, conferences, special nutrition workshops, seminars, and trainings.
  • Maintain current Nutritionist/Dietitian licensure issued by the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulation.
  • Be willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal hours during emergencies, including natural and man‑made disasters.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutritional science, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, or dietetics from an accredited institution, aligned with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Florida Chapter 468.
  • Current active license as a Dietitian or Nutritionist in the State of Florida issued by the Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
  • Willingness to work before, during, and/or beyond normal hours during emergencies, including natural and man‑made disasters.
  • At least two years of nutrition‑related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • WIC experience.
  • One year or more of supervisory, management, or leadership experience.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish and/or Creole.
