Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Staff Data Engineer to join our Digital Strategy & Analytics team. This position is located in Melbourne, Florida.
Job Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Developing a roadmap from existing tools, processes, and efforts towards a program specific implementation of optimized engineering and programmatic processes
- Develop and implement a program-specific Data strategy that supports the Enterprise Data Strategy
- Manage Data Science practices for prescriptive, predictive, diagnostic, descriptive, and cognitive analytics through automation, storage elasticity, and on-demand self service provisioning of all data types and life cycles
- Enable storing, searching, processing, and securing of extremely large structured or unstructured data sets
- Proactively identify issues and inefficiencies within the business to develop and deploy solutions
- Drive the adoption of data analysis methodologies across program operations for improved performance analysis
- Lead the monitoring and analysis of operational data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, and provide recommendations/solutions
- Actively engage with program leaders and key stakeholders to identify and understand operational problems
- Design and manage the data infrastructure, network, and system automation
- User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design and development
- Ability to communicate complex analytical subject matter across varied audiences
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in a related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline and 12 years of related professional experience; OR Master of Science in a related STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional experience
- Experience developing and executing data strategies that consider big data solutions such as data lakes and/or data warehouses
- Understanding of elastic data storage and archive storage lifecycle management
- Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Tableau, etc.) and techniques
- Experience with large scale distributed software and agile software development methodologies
- Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) Systems
- Experience integrating AI/ML into business processes
- Experience developing and enforcing a governance strategy for data democratization within security parameters
- Leadership or management experience over a technical team
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science
- 5 years of hands-on software development experience
- Strong understanding of business and engineering processes, tools, and techniques
- Experience with UI/UX design and development
- Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated experience developing product visions and fostering effective engineering teams
- Demonstrated technical leadership of product development teams that have successfully delivered customer-driven products
- Experience developing big data solutions related to elastic data storage and archive storage lifecycle management
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing insights from multiple data sources across different network domains
- Experience with No
SQL Databases (e.g., Mongo
DB, Neo4J, etc.) - Understanding of Northrop Grumman policy, process, and products
- Ability to make decisions with minimal support
- Experience in a program management role
- Graphic design experience
- Top Secret clearance
- CompTIA Security+ Certification or Equivalent 8570 Certification
