Overview
(DOD Skill Bridge) Principal Product Trainer - Aircraft Maintenance - R – role at Northrop Grumman. This position is fully onsite in Melbourne, FL and supports the Instructional System Design (ISD) for a new Weapon System’s training system. Travel up to 10% may be required. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance type:
Secret.
- Plan, develop, and coordinate in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers. Obtain information to prepare training programs; prepare training materials; develop course content; determine methodology; and coordinate the development of training aids.
- Conduct training sessions and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. Revise lesson plans to meet new training requirements and keep technical information up to date.
- Provide a comprehensive analysis of manpower, personnel, training, acquisition, development, and sustainment requirements for Naval Aviation maintainer rates.
- Perform formal Instructional System Design (ISD) analyses, including Front End Analysis (FEA), Baseline Comparison System (BCS) analysis, Job/Duty/Task Analysis (JDTA), Mission Task Analysis (MTA), and Training System Requirements Analysis (TSRA). Address O, I, and D level maintenance tasks (planned, corrective, and troubleshooting).
- Develop training curriculum, study outlines, and orientation materials for maintenance training procedures.
- Support development of criteria for evaluating training effectiveness and collaborate with SMEs to identify training needs and develop solutions for skills-based requirements.
- Deliver classroom instruction based on developed courseware and manage course closeout requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain final adjudicated government Secret clearance and program access as required within a reasonable period of time.
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of military and/or professional leadership experience OR Master's Degree with 3 years of experience OR PhD with 1 year of experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on tactical jet aircraft maintenance experience as an aircraft maintainer in the US military (USN/USMC/USAF).
- Experience at the Operational (O) Level of maintenance (e.g., within a Strike Fighter squadron).
- Experience in Aviation Machinist’s Mate (AD), Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM), or Aviation Structural Mechanic Safety Equipment (AME).
- Working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with diverse assignments and collaborative, cross-level teamwork.
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance and current Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).
- Naval Aviation maintenance background within a tactical jet aircraft community (USN/USMC).
- Experience at the O/I/D Levels of maintenance; supervisory experience with advanced qualifications (e.g., CDI, CDQAR, QAR, Safe for Flight, QAS).
- Formal instructor experience and ISD education/training from an accredited institution or service training command.
- Experience in task analysis procedures and training systems products; basic understanding of Agile processes.
- Experience using courseware development tools – LCMS and LMS; familiarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira).

Salary and BenefitsPrimary Level Salary Range: $71,600.00 - $. Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers. Eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses depending on position and performance. Benefits include health, life, disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
