Plant Mechanic

Responsibilities:

• Ensure Safety
• The plant maintenance mechanic is responsible for daily maintenance and repair of the plant (within Oldcastle Southern Group, including APAC Florida, Conrad Yelvington Distributors, and Preferred Materials) as well as other related work. Responsibilities include plant maintenance, repair, and installation operations, performing special maintenance projects, and maintenance and repair on all facility equipment. Troubleshoot and determine appropriate repairs, replacing defective parts as needed.
  
  Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment in use at the plant.
• Complete the necessary paperwork and communicate maintenance needs to management. Follow all safety regulations. Maintain a clean work environment for equipment and the facility.
• Keep and submit required paperwork to management, including maintenance needs, parts and service work orders and invoices, and safety documentation.
• May perform a range of duties within the plant, such as operating a front end loader, and be willing to help wherever needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds alone and stand for a significant portion of the day.
• Work in varying weather conditions, in dusty and noisy areas. Involve substantial walking, bending, stooping, lifting or working in awkward positions. Some hazards are involved due to working in and around trucks and machinery.
• Overtime and some weekend work may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Front End Loader experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the maintenance field is preferred.
• General experience with industrial equipment and ability to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Ready Mix plant operations.
• Ability to make simple electrical diagnosis and repairs
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
