- Urology role at Health First

To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship by overseeing the medical care given to patients while implementing high standards of care consistent with clinic office and medical policies and procedures.
Primary Accountabilities- Assist physician in all procedures as instructed.
- Maintain all stock in treatment rooms, rotate dated medications, supplies, and keep correct documentation of narcotic drugs.
- Collect blood and/or samples using sterile techniques and process with correct paperwork, directing to the correct laboratory for processing.
- Sterilize all equipment/instruments using proper techniques and use standard equipment in the clinic wound care setting.
- Administer all medications as ordered and document actions; call in medications to area pharmacies when requested by physician.
- Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and patient care teams to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical wound care setting.
- Assist in the use of equipment and materials in a cost-effective manner.
- Complete all documentation supporting billable activities in a timely manner.
- Maintain documentation and assessment of patients' vital signs, drug allergies, and description of patients' complaints on all charts.
- Under the supervision of an RN, case manage patients with their wound care; apply dressings as ordered per the physician.
- Education:
Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse licensure from a credentialed program and Florida Board of Nursing approval prior to hire date or job transfer date. - Work Experience:

Must hold and maintain a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date. - Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills; ability to work in stressful environments; ability to assess and quickly interpret data; assist physicians in the care and education of patients of various ages and levels of understanding; demonstrate leadership ability and flexibility; knowledge of exposure to biohazardous waste, MSDS substances and unknown diseases.
- Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently.
- Medium work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance.
- May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, reaching out and above shoulders or overhead.
- May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift.
- May be exposed to indoor/outdoor environments with varied temperatures, lighting and/or noise; may require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
