Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care to pediatric patients in our Pediatric Unit. This is a per diem position, with the potential for full‑time employment in the future. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric nursing and a passion for working with children.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients in the Pediatric Unit
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the healthcare team
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on health and wellness topics
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and advancements in pediatric nursing
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing
- BLS and PALS certifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment
- Compassionate and patient‑centered approach to care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Visual acuity and hand‑eye coordination for clinical tasks
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range
- Capable of lifting, turning, pulling, pushing, or ambulates patients/equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift
- Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift
- Stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 90% of the assigned shift
- Potential exposure to bio‑hazardous waste and unknown diseases
- Work in a stressful environment with patients/families at various ages and levels of understanding
- Concentrate on multiple priority activities
- Respond appropriately to life‑threatening situations
- Employ critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
