Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care to pediatric patients in our Pediatric Unit. This is a per diem position, with the potential for full‑time employment in the future. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric nursing and a passion for working with children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients in the Pediatric Unit
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the healthcare team
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and their families on health and wellness topics
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and advancements in pediatric nursing
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing
  • BLS and PALS certifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment
  • Compassionate and patient‑centered approach to care
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Physical Demands
  • Visual acuity and hand‑eye coordination for clinical tasks
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal range
  • Capable of lifting, turning, pulling, pushing, or ambulates patients/equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift
  • Stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 90% of the assigned shift
  • Potential exposure to bio‑hazardous waste and unknown diseases
Mental Demands
  • Work in a stressful environment with patients/families at various ages and levels of understanding
  • Concentrate on multiple priority activities
  • Respond appropriately to life‑threatening situations
  • Employ critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
