Steward - Job Summary

Meg O'Malley's Stewards help maintain a clean, welcoming and efficiently run dining environment. They actively support servers, bartenders, hosts, and Back-of-the-House while keeping service ware and Guest-facing areas stocked, sanitized and ready throughout the shift. They are a visible representative of our hospitality and an assistant to both dining room and BOH service areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge Guests warmly throughout the shift; be a visible, approachable presence on the dining floor that reflects Meg's welcoming spirit
• Bus and reset tables promptly to Meg's standards – turning tables quickly so every Guest is seated in a clean, properly set space without delay
• Keep all Guest-facing areas clean, dry, and safe throughout the shift; address spills and hazards immediately to protect our Guests and Team Members
• Stock and maintain clean restrooms and hand-washing stations, ensuring Guests always encounter a well-kept environment
• Collect soiled dishware, glassware, and silverware from the dining room promptly, ensuring Guest tables and service stations are never cluttered or out of supply
• Ensure all dishware, glassware, and silverware is cleaned, sanitized, and returned to service-ready condition to maintain uninterrupted service
• Inspect service ware for cleanliness and presentation standards before it reaches the table – our Guests notice, and so do we
• Monitor and replenish service stations with clean glassware, silverware, and dishware throughout the shift so the team is never without what they need
• Maintain and sanitize all service equipment and supply areas to the highest cleanliness standard, ensuring a Guest environment we are proud of
• Support servers and bartenders proactively – anticipating their needs so they can stay focused on delivering an outstanding Guest experience
• Communicate actively with the server and host team to support efficient table turns, seating flow, and Guest satisfaction
• Respond promptly and positively to any Guest request; resolve concerns quickly and elevate to management when appropriate
• Complete all assigned side work, restocking, and additional duties as directed by management
• Adhere to all company safety, sanitation, and food-handling standards at all times

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; not required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Food Handler certification preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already held
• Ability to communicate clearly in English with managers, Team Members, and Guests
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
