Village Thrift Cashiers – Volunteer Cashier – Morning & Afternoon Shifts

Love In the Name of Christ (INC) of Brevard, a faith-based nonprofit 501(c)3, is seeking volunteers for cashier positions at the Village Thrift shop where all profits go back into the ministry.

About Love INC: Love INC partners with 50+ local churches to help people in need. We offer resources by participation, basic life skills, and relationship building to transform and free individuals from poverty. Love INC of Brevard is one of over 130 affiliates in 30 states, helping over 1 million people yearly.

As a volunteer cashier you greet customers, ring up sales, answer the store phone, and assist customers with their needs. You will serve weekly and year round. The store follows CDC guidelines on social distancing, provides facemasks, hand sanitizer, and a plexiglass divider between cashier and customer.

• Greet customers and provide friendly service.
• Ring up sales, process cash and credit transactions accurately.
• Answer the store phone and respond to customer inquiries.
• Maintain a clean and organized cash drawer and store front.
• Assist with store organization and restock shelves as needed.

• People-friendly, reliable, dependable, and detail-oriented.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Experience with cash handling and POS systems preferred (optional).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Shifts vary across the week. Carry out the following preferred shift times:

• Monday 1:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.
• Wednesday 1:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.
• Thursday 1:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.
• Friday 1:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.
• Saturday morning 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Saturday afternoon 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
• Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (duplicate shift – see above)
