To be fully engaged in providing unarmed security services to ensure the safety and security of associates, patients, and visitors of Health First facilities.

• Picks up and delivers incoming/outgoing USPS mail to/from Holmes Regional Medical.
• Picks up and sorts all interoffice mail at Health First entities.
• Picks up, logs, and transports cash bags, supplies, bio‑hazard specimens, x‑rays, medical records, surgical instruments, payroll, blood platelets, medication, and lab supplies to/from Health First entities.
• Conducts daily vehicle safety inspections and monitors vehicle maintenance requirements.
• Conducts patient escorts, patient watches, and provides safety escorts; assists and transports deceased to the morgue.
• Completes required shift logs and reports in compliance with site post orders and Health First policies and procedures.
• Investigates and prepares reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Assists associates, patients, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Performs Security Officer duties as needed, including:
  • Security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
  • Investigating suspicious situations.
  • Warning violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying prohibited articles.
  • Sounding alarms or calling police/fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Watching for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
  • Monitoring entrances and exits; permitting authorized persons to enter property and observing departing persons to prevent theft of company property.

• Education: None.
• Work Experience: Minimum one (1) year verifiable experience preferably in courier, security, or customer service role.
• Licensure: Valid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Report within thirty (30) days of start date and thereafter.
• Certification: At least one (1) of the following within thirty (30) days of start date:
  • AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card.
• Age Requirement: 21 years of age or older.
• Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Completion of Crisis Prevention Training within first 90 days.
  • Physical ability to deal with or subdue a mental‑health patient in crisis.
  • Willingness to perform tasks that may require entering the hospital morgue and roof‑top helipad.
  • Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
  • Active listening and effective communication with the public.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
  • Attention to detail.

• Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently.
• May occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
• May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces, reaching over shoulders or overhead.
• May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.
• May be exposed to indoor and outdoor environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or noise levels.
• May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines.
• May require travel to various facilities within and beyond the county perimeter; may require use of a personal vehicle.
