Electrician I: $23.05 to $25.36 hourly
Journeyman Electrician: $25.18 to $27.70 hourly
Master Electrician: $26.40 to $29.04 hourly
Selections for current vacancies will be based upon the candidate's highest level of current/active license held. Work schedule involves shift work and includes stand‑by, overtime, and holidays as needed.
Requirements- Electrician I: Three (3) years of experience in industrial electrical systems. Coursework in electrical technology may substitute for required experience on a year‑for‑year basis (30 semester hours = one year experience).
- Journeyman Electrician: Four (4) years of experience working with commercial or industrial electrical systems; OR documented hands‑on four‑year apprenticeship (2,000 hours per year). Must possess or obtain a valid Brevard County Journeyman’s Electrical license or a valid State of Florida Electrical Contractor’s license and maintain said license during employment.
- Master Electrician: Five (5) years of experience in industrial electrical systems. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis. Must possess and maintain a valid Brevard County Master Electrician License or equivalent State or County license accepted by Brevard County Contractor Licensing.
- All Levels: Valid Florida Driver’s license; physical capability to wear and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE); willingness to work overtime, standby, and call‑out duties on a rotational basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays; satisfactory completion of all mandatory County training; emergency duties as directed during disasters.
- LIFT: 50 lbs. or more

- PULL: 50 lbs. or more
- STAND: 5–8 hours per day
- WALK: 5–8 hours per day
- SIT: 5–8 hours per day
- DRIVE: 5–8 hours per day
- Fine manipulation, operating foot controls, simple grasping (e.g., pen, screwdriver)
- Balance, bend, climb, crawl, dig, jump, kneel, reach, run, smell, stoop
- Color perception; good distance, near vision; good hearing; good speech; use of both eyes
- At heights above/below ground level; below ground level (ditches, tunnels, etc.); in cold; in dampness or chilly conditions; in heat; in high humidity; in or with dusty conditions; with moving objects or vehicles; with noisy conditions; on ladders or scaffolding; on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; with chemicals or solvents; with electricity; with feet, legs or hands in water; with fumes, smoke, gases or flames;
with grease; with hazardous materials; with lawn grasses, plants, etc.; with odors; with oils; with poor lighting; with poor ventilation; with silica, fiberglass, etc.; with vibrations; work alone; work inside; work outside; works closely with others
