$27.65 to $30.42 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs skilled crafts and trades work overseeing and participating in the maintenance and repair of various types of air conditioning, and heating equipment. May supervise subordinate trades staff in the installation and repair of HVAC equipment.
REQUIREMENTSFour (4) years of experience working with commercial HVAC systems; OR successful completion of a certificate program from an accredited post-secondary vocational-technical school in HVAC technology, or a closely related field; PLUS two (2) years of experience working with commercial HVAC systems; OR successful completion of a documented hands-on four (4) year [2,000 hours per year] on-the-job apprenticeship training program working with a licensed HVAC contractor.
Trane Tracer Control System experience is preferred. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid active Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 certification card, in accordance with the Federal Clean Air Act, and maintain said certification card during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, a valid Brevard County HVAC Journeyman license or a valid active State of Florida HVAC Mechanical Contractor's license and maintain said license during the term of employment.
Must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check administered by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
