Position Summary

The Operations Support Technician is a cross-trained, field-based role supporting both Termite Control and Wildlife Exclusion operations. This position bridges departments by assisting with inspections, treatments, exclusions, repairs, and operational tasks that require physical capability, technical aptitude, and professional customer interaction.

This role is designed for a versatile technician who can adapt daily between termite services and wildlife/exclusion work based on operational demand, while maintaining compliance with FDACS regulations, safety standards, and Slug-A-Bug service expectations.

Key Responsibilities Field Operations & Technical Support
  • Perform residential and commercial termite inspections, identify activity, conducive conditions, and construction features impacting treatment.
  • Assist with and perform termite treatments including trenching, drilling, rodding, foaming, and bait system installation/maintenance (e.g., Sentricon or similar).
  • Conduct wildlife and exclusion inspections of attics, crawlspaces, roofs, vents, siding, and structural penetrations.
  • Execute exclusion and sealing work, including installation of mesh, flashing, hardware cloth, vent covers, foam, and minor structural repairs.
  • Assist with or perform wildlife trapping/removal in accordance with company protocols and applicable regulations.
  • Safely operate drills, injectors, sprayers, ladders, pumps, and hand tools used in termite and exclusion services.
  • Load, mix, transport, and handle materials and products safely and in compliance with label and safety requirements.
Customer Interaction & Documentation
  • Communicate inspection findings, service scope, preventive recommendations, and next steps clearly and professionally.
  • Document inspections, treatments, materials used, time logs, and client notes accurately in Pest Pac.
  • Represent Slug-A-Bug’s values on every property through professionalism, cleanliness, and courtesy.
Operational Support
  • Follow daily schedules and assist supervisors with service flow and job completion.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in safe, clean, service-ready condition.
  • Participate in training, certifications, and cross-department skill development.
Core Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently (75 lbs with assistance).
  • Crawl, kneel, bend, twist, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Work in confined spaces including attics and crawlspaces.
  • Ascend/descend ladders and work at heights and on roofs.
  • Tolerate Florida heat and humidity, including attic temperatures exceeding 120°F.
  • Work outdoors in variable weather conditions.
  • Wear PPE (respirator, gloves, coveralls, eye protection) for extended durations.
  • Maintain balance and coordination on uneven terrain and structures.
  • Drive company vehicles and load/unload equipment daily.
Workload & Endurance
  • Work 8-10 hour field shifts, with occasional Saturday work as needed.
  • Maintain focus and physical stamina across multiple jobs per day.
  • Adapt quickly to changing conditions, schedules, and service demands.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Pass background check and drug screening (initial and random).
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding, hands-on environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in termite control, wildlife exclusion, pest control, construction, or maintenance.
  • Familiarity with bait systems, trench-and-treat, foaming, or exclusion materials.
  • Understanding of building construction and structural access points.
  • FDACS certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong safety awareness and team-oriented mindset.
