Overview
POSITION SUMMARY The Facility Technician III provides skilled maintenance duties in Facilities across the Health First Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) including inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance of buildings, grounds and applicable equipment. Ensures safety, efficiency and reliability of facilities by leveraging knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across all on-site and off-site locations.
Responsibilities- Conducts preventive maintenance inspections, adjustments, and repairs on applicable equipment, machinery, facility locations, and systems for safe and efficient operations, ensuring compliance with Health First schedules and procedures.
- Delivers excellent service to Associates, patients, and visitors, maintaining professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.
- Diagnoses, repairs, and restores compliant function to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including calibration, commissioning, and replacement of components, while applying OSHA safety standards.
- Documents and tracks all work in the Computerized Management System (TMA/FMP) within 24 hours of performing work, ensuring organized maintenance records.
- Receives and promptly responds to emergency requests (e.g., STATs) to mitigate disruption of services while ensuring safety.
- Maintains, stores, and operates applicable tools and equipment; ensures routine cleaning and proper lubrication.
- Researches, requisitions, and tracks inventory for tools and replacement components to support timely maintenance activities.
- Provides coaching and guidance to junior Facility Technicians to develop expertise and ensure adherence to facilities compliance standards.
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. - Work Experience:
Three (3) years’ experience in comparable trade work. - Licensure:
- Journeyman Certificate (valid prior to start date and maintained).
- Driver's License and clean MVR (maintained).
- Certification:
None - Work Experience In Lieu of Licensure:
Additional five (5) years’ journeyman level trade work experience. - Work Experience In Lieu of
Education:
Additional two (2) years’ journeyman level trade work experience. - Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Ability to provide and maintain required hand tools (job-specific power tools provided).
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, applicable codes, and blueprint reading.
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance, calibration, commissioning, and repair of facility equipment.
- Basic skills in carpentry, welding, and soldering.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing duties, and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Education:
Graduate of applicable trade school.
- Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently.
- May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
- May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces; reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead.
- May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift.
- Exposure to varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and noise levels.
- Potential exposure to biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination required to perform tasks.
- Workspace may vary from open to confined; may require travel to facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of a personal vehicle.
