Plant Mechanic

Preferred Materials – Concrete Division, part of CRH South Division, is a leading supplier of ready mix concrete, concrete block, rebar and building materials in Florida. With headquarters in Tampa, our operations serve municipalities, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, builders and suppliers across five key Florida markets. • Ensure Safety – follow all safety regulations set by the company.
• Daily maintenance and repair of plant equipment as assigned; troubleshoot and replace defective parts as needed.
• Complete required paperwork, communicate maintenance needs to management, and maintain a clean work environment for all equipment and facility.
• Document maintenance needs, parts and service work orders, invoices, and safety documentation.
• Operate a front-end loader and assist with other duties as needed; able to lift 50 lbs alone and stand for a good portion of the day.
• Work in varying weather conditions, dust, noisy areas, and safe around trucks and machinery.
• Work overtime and weekends as business needs determine.
• Occasional satellite locations.

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Front-end loader experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the maintenance field.
• General experience with industrial equipment and ability to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on ready-mix plant operations.
• Ability to perform simple electrical diagnosis and repairs.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
• Valid driver’s license.
