Resident Monitor
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, is seeking a Resident Monitor for the Melbourne Corps in Melbourne, Florida.
Job SummaryResponsible for accepting and processing residents in the shelter overnight, conducting interviews for program participation, monitoring resident activity during assigned shifts to ensure safety, security, and compliance with house rules. Maintains accurate records and logs, ensures the shelter's cleanliness and orderliness, and writes individualized case plans to help clients meet their self-sufficiency goals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of office procedures and record-keeping practices.
- Effective communication skills to motivate and control client behavior.
- Ability to work independently, enforce policies, and work with diverse populations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving requirements per policies and certifications.
High school diploma or G.E.D., with two years of security or social service experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses and Certifications- Background check approval
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Safe From Harm Training
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Attendance and communication skills in English.
- Ability to respond calmly to emergencies.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, standing, lifting (less than 25 lbs.), and carrying light objects.
- Work environment with minimal physical discomforts related to weather or noise.
