Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Software - Dev Ops & Cloud Infrastructure to join our Dev Ops and Cloud Infrastructure team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located on-site in Melbourne, Florida
.

Dev Ops Engineers are responsible for designing and managing the Cloud infrastructure. Duties include deploying product updates, setting up software factory, virtual machines, containers, and orchestration. The role will have a large impact on team productivity and as such requires an understanding of the software development lifecycle and various automation tools for developing digital pipelines (CI/CD pipelines).

You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as with Systems Engineering, Real-time & Embedded Software, Test Automation, Dev Ops and Systems Test, in an Agile software development environment. You will analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.

Essential Functions
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels
  • Participate in the full software development life cycle including design, implementation, and delivery of software products to our customers
  • Operate in a cloud technology development environment working with microservices, object-oriented programming, design patterns and pub-sub messaging
  • Work in Agile Scrum teams to develop software products for multiple software baselines
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers and integration/test engineers to develop and maintain complex software systems
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience in software engineering OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of experience in software engineering OR a PhD degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 1 year of experience.
  • Ability to implement software and scripts in one or more programming languages: C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Go, Power Shell, VBScript, Bash, AND/OR Korn Shell.
  • Knowledge of Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools such as:
    Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo), AND/OR Git Hub, Git Lab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain (and maintain) special program access (PAR).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated Experience with at least one of the following Cloud technologies and service providers:
    Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft (MS) Azure, Google Cloud.
  • Demonstrated experience in sensor fusion techniques, algorithms (e.g., Kalman filters), and concepts.
  • Proficient in performing quantitative data analysis
  • Demonstrated

    Experience with at least one of the following Databases:
    Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Postgre

    SQL, Mongo

    DB, Redis, Elastic Search.
  • Experience AND/OR Certification with cloud and container management & security technologies such as: VMWare, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Docker, Redhat Open Shift, Amazon Elastic Container Service…
