Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Simulation Software Engineer in our Software organization in Melbourne, Florida
. You will join a team developing the next generation of software for next generation platforms, supporting development and integration of AI/ML, quantum computing, cloud, and digital design technologies to impact future aircraft. You will contribute to the tools and simulations that give our war fighters an advantage.
Primary responsibilities and environment are described below.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, integrate and test software for end-user customers and businesses.
- Design, architecture, application development, and flight simulation tasks.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, Test Automation, Dev Sec Ops , Systems Test) in an Agile software development environment.
- Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, and controls.
- Work in an innovative environment, on diverse assignments, in collaborative teams across all levels.
- Participate in the full software development life cycle: requirements, design, implementation, qualification, and delivery of software products to customers.
- Architect and develop applications in a simulated training environment.
- Contribute to software products for multiple baselines.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s degree in STEM with 0 years of experience.
- Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – requirements, design, development, testing, deployment.
- Experience with at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Python.
- Experience with two or more of the following tools:
Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket, Subversion, Bamboo, Jenkins, Sonar Qube, Fortify, or Coverity. - Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to employment.
- Strong understanding of C and C++ (templates, memory, compiler/linker).
- Experience with Joint Simulation Environment (JSE), Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), or High-Level Architecture (HLA).
- Experience with Full-Motion Flight Training Systems.
- Experience with simulated threat environments such as AFSIM or NGTS.
- Ability to collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers on complex software systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Primary Level Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $
The above salary range is a general guideline. Varied factors influence base salary offers, including scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, and skills.
Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Long-term incentives may apply for VP/Director roles. Northrop Grumman provides benefits including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company-paid holidays, and PTO.
