This is an on-going position subject to annual layoffs and recall, as per Article 13 of the Collective Agreement. The employment period could be up to 6 months annually, approximately May through October.

• Ability to maintain assigned public facilities and park areas in a clean, healthy and safe manner.
• Ability to undertake the regular and special maintenance of all equipment needed to do the work.
• Ability to maintain an accurate work record of the equipment and duties performed.
• Ability to ensure facilities and equipment are maintained at a standard of care to ensure the safety of the employees and public.
• Ability to effectively communicate with members of the public, the leadership team, and other colleagues.
• Ability to adhere to City of Melfort Safety Program
• Willing to participate in training opportunities that the City of Melfort deems necessary to improve knowledge and job performance.
• Ability to understand and complete oral and written instructions with minimum supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Valid Class 5 drivers license with driving abstract
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and a vulnerable sector check.
• Experience in facility and parks maintenance would be an asset but not a requirement
