This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and client-focused accounting professional looking to develop their career within a professional practice environment.
The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of client accounts and support a range of accounting, bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of client accounts and maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare management accounts and financial reports
- Assist with bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and ledger maintenance
- Prepare and review VAT returns and support HMRC compliance
- Support payroll processing and maintain payroll records
- Assist with year-end accounts preparation
Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable and client transactions - Analyse financial information and investigate discrepancies
- Support audit preparation and respond to information requests
- Act as a key point of contact for client accounting queries
- Build and maintain strong professional client relationships
- Assist clients with accounting software and financial documentation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, HMRC requirements and internal procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency
- Support accounting system implementation and process improvements
The ideal candidate will have:
- AAT, ACCA, CIMA, Finance degree or equivalent accounting experience
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice or finance environment
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and financial reporting
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage or similar
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines
- A professional and confidential approach to client relationships
- Salary up to £30,000 per annum
